Freshwater has a very wide range of animals that can survive and thrive in aquariums. Due to this, we have grouped the most common families here. While this is not a comprehensive list by any means, these are the species we find to be the most popular and most readily available. If you have a certain fish that you would like to keep, but do not see it on our list, please contact us. We have had success with far more than what is listed here and will happily discuss your options.

Feeding: Most freshwater fish take readily to flake and pellet foods. Because of this, it is often convenient to add an auto-feeder to a tank. This device will feed your fish for you at the same time(s) everyday.
Schooling Fish: Most animals on this list are schooling fish. These best in groups: the more, the merrier. We suggest having at least six individuals of the same species, but prefer more. Larger groups are more visible and will be considerably more active in your tank.
