About Us
Humble Beginnings
Fish and Ships began as a one-man show, owned and operated by Andrew Lake in 19XX. In those days, Andrew would tend to each tank personally with little more than a hose, bucket, toothbrush, and bull-headed determination.
Today, it's a growing family business run by Andrew and his wife Sarah. While Andrew still oversees the care of every tank (and cares for many himself), our team has grown. Our methods of care have become more advanced as technology improves, allowing us to service a greater number of aquariums. Even so, we keep things close to home and aren't afraid to fall back on tried-and-true methods. After all, nothing can beat a toothbrush and some old-fashioned stubbornness.

Quality: We prioritize the health of our animals above all else. Our quarantine system is small but specialized, and allows us to treat all of our fish before they go to their permanent homes. Service: This is a family business and every tank we care for is a personal project. We take great pride in the beauty and balanced nature of our aquariums, as well as being able to tailor our designs to your preference.
Selection: We are not a retailer. When we order fish, we order with specific clients in mind and only bring in animals that we are prepared to care for properly. Not all fish are likely to survive in captivity and we are able to accept that we are cannot win every battle. As such, the fish we offer are the most likely to survive for many years to come.
