Quarantine

It's important for fish to be healthy and disease-free before they go to their new homes. We understand this and have an extensive quarantine procedure for all of our fish, with freshwater fish being held for three weeks, and saltwater for four.

Any fish we sell, both freshwater and saltwater, comes with a one month guarantee unless other agreements have been made. Our fish are delivered straight to your tank and monitored closely afterwards to ensure they fit in well. Should problems arise, we will adjust the environment as necessary to please everyone.

Our guarantee does not apply in cases where the cause of death is preventable by the client, such as introduction of sick fish from another facility, fish have not been fed, or specialized instructions were not followed. Currently, we are only selling fish to our maintenance customers.

There are three main categories of disease in fish: bacterial, fungal, and parasitic. Our process treats for all three to allow each fish the best chance at life. We believe in a mix of preventative treatments and careful observation over an extended period of time. Additionally, this gives us the opportunity to learn each animal's personality and ensure that they are eating well to avoid potential issues later.

We do not keep fish on hand. Typically, we only order in fish that already have homes waiting for them. And, of course, availability for certain species varies throughout the year. As such, there can be a substantial wait-time between requesting and receiving specific fish.

We try to keep a consistent schedule, but the health of our animals comes first, so treatments may be extended as necessary.  Our quarantine system is very small and we prioritize quality over speed. Please be patient with us and do not hesitate to ask where we are in the process. 

Most fish illnesses are very contagious and very deadly. Our quarantine process helps us control and avoid these diseases in our clients' tanks. However, this is only effective if we are able to control what is introduced to the tank. 

In short, we ask that our clients do not purchase any animals from other vendors. You are not contractually obligated to do so and are free to check our prices against our competitors, but we feel this is the most direct way to avoid issues.

If you still wish to purchase your animals elsewhere, we have a compromise available. While we will continue service (and provide suggestions toward future additions), we will no longer sell fish to you. If you wish to add animals to your tank yourself, please be forward and honest with us about it so that we can continue to provide the best care possible and avoid frustration on all sides.
