Corals are the plants of the saltwater world, except for one small detail - they're not plants at all! Corals are actually colonies of small animals that all live and grow together. They can be all sorts of colors and shapes, with hundreds of species around the world. We don't keep all of them of course, but we do have a few that we keep regularly.
There are three main types of coral: soft, large-polyp stony (LPS), and small-polyp stony (SPS). Soft corals are the easiest of our corals, and most of our tanks contain only softies. Hard corals tend to be more demanding and require more powerful lighting.
Even with specialized equipment, not all corals do well in every tank. We will try to grow the corals you prefer, but please be aware that success is not guaranteed for each specific species.
*Anemones are not corals, but the singular species we keep has care very similar to that of soft corals, so it is included here.
